14000 m/sq NEW TERRAIN Existing terrain near the “box run” on the eastside of the resort has been terraced to create a new slopestyle lane, featuring 10,000 m/sq of skillfully crafted intermediate jumps and jibs. The Half Pint Park has increased in size by 4000 m/sq by widening the area it covers and demolishing a previously unused halfpipe. NEW FEATURES A full time summer crew has built and upgraded a variety of boxes, rails and unique features designed to freshen up the park. An emphasis has been put on novice rails and boxes, as well as adding to the intermediate level features. Also newly introduced this year are competition specific rails so when major events happen at the resort the features open to the public remain the same. NIGHT RIDING Snow Park NZ opens up for skiing and riding on Tuesday and Friday (during July and August) from 5pm to 9pm. This new product is available either as an add-on to a day pass as an individual night riding pass. The Woolshed Restaurant and Bar allows for excellent viewing at this time, plus offers a great range of hot food to keep riders going on the cold winter nights.
Snow Park NZ already has an excellent international reputation for their exciting and innovative terrain and is now turning attention to the growth of the sport to attract a broader mix of visitors. The creation of the Half Pint Park, aims to encourage novice riders into the freestyle world of snowboarding and skiing. Redeveloped and relocated for 2008, this park within Snow Park NZ includes the same features as the main park but on a smaller scale and on less steep terrain offering new riders the chance to learn in a fun and relaxed environment.
