2.WANAKA SEASONAL - best option is to rent a house/flat if you are with a group or rent a room in a private house if you are travelling alone. Check out www.lakewanaka.co.nz or www.accommodationwanaka.com for listings. If you are already in Wanaka, pick up a copy of the Messenger which has local ads and listings.

3. WANAKA LONG TERM - most backpackers offer good long term stay rates and some have self-contained units for long term rentals as well. If you are looking for a bit more comfort and willing to spend a bit more, Wanaka has many holiday houses that you can rent from 1 to 4 weeks at a time.
