Snow Park NZ and Electric Eyeware have reunited to launch the popular Electric Quarter Pipe Battle this Saturday, July 30.
Snow Park NZ has spent the month of July building the colossal structure, which remains the only quarterpipe to feature permanently in a New Zealand resort. It is built and maintained using the 22ft Global Cutter halfpipe shaper.
“This is the only event of it’s kind in New Zealand and it’s a spectacular one to watch,” said Kristy Quin, Snow Park NZ Marketing Manager. “We’re excited to welcome Electric and the Quarter Pipe Battle back. Excellent snow making conditions coupled with the new groomers have made for a perfect set up.”

The free-to-enter jam style competition is open to both freeskiers and snowboarders of all ages and skill levels. Riders will be judged on style and amplitude and will be vying for a $2,000 cash prize pool along with spot prizes.
Following the jam, the top skiers and snowboarders will progress to the Final where they will be required to perform a succession of tricks, collaboratively selected by the riders themselves. The finalists will be eliminated one by one as the tricks get harder and more creative.
The Prize giving at the Woolshed Restaurant will follow the competition before the event relocates to the Subculture Bar in Queenstown for the after party.
Registration starts at 9 am in the Snow Park retail shop. All ages and levels are encouraged to enter!
As another Snow Park NZ exclusive, a step-up to landing and step-up to bag jump will again be constructed next to the quarter Pipe, adding to the long list of pro set up options in the park.
