Showcasing Junior Snowboard Talent Today

Snow Park NZ wrapped up a perfect two days of competition, with the Rossignol Slopestyle today offering snowboarders their chance at a place in the history books.

Onlookers were treated to an epic showcase of talent with Mack James, 15, of Wanaka, taking control of the Boy’s Junior Division, stomping two strong runs, earning a high score of 8.37 from a possible 10. Another local talent, J.J Rayward, 13, of Wanaka, was the top placing rider in the Boys Youth Division.

Bree Hyde, 14, of Auckland took the top spot in the Junior Girl division, while Lucy Hayes, 13, and Zoi Synnott, 9, both from Wanaka, triumphed in the Youth and Grommet Divisions respectively.

The Junior Slopestyle event also marked the opening of the Hatchet Slopestyle run, formally known as the Triple Line.

Snow Park NZ patrons and newcomers alike will be free to enjoy the Hatchet Slopestyle run from tomorrow. Halfpipe enthusiasts will be glad to hear that the new 22ft Halfpipe is also near completion.
